Yoni Steaming Herbs
Vaginal steaming is an ancient method used to ease menstrual symptoms, help regulate your cycle, unclog mucous membranes and ducts (similar to how a facial steam unclogs your sinuses), cleans and condition the uterus after pregnancy or miscarriage. Best time to do it is 3 days before or after a menstrual cycle. DO NOT steam while on your moon cycle or if you are pregnant or experiencing symptoms of a yeast infection or undiagnosed STD.
Place 2 tbsp (about 3 grams) in a bowl on the floor. Make sure the area will be comfortable to sit for 15-20 minutes. For at home use you just need a large bowl (preferably ceramic, not plastic). You will also need a sheet to wrap around yourself to capture the steam. Pour 2-4 cups of boiling hot water over the herbs then immediately squat over the bowl and cover your waist with the sheet to capture the steam.
You can alter a chair by shortening the legs and cutting a hole in the center to make sitting easier. There are special seats that fit over a 5 gallon bucket you can purchase online. I use a small rice cooker to keep the herbs hot for longer and steam up to 45 minutes at a time. Just be careful not to give yourself a steam burn if using a heated element under you. Beware, metal bowls or pans can burn your skin if you get too close.
