Class Descriptions

Chair yoga
60 minute Modified practice
This class is taught using a chair and mat. It is a modified Hatha class. Gentle movements stretch and strengthen the body while supporting the weight with the safety of a chair. This is a great way to begin a yoga practice for the first time, after an injury, or later in life.
  • Lubricate joints to ease pain and stiffness
  • Increase strength to improve bone density
  • Increase flexibility to prolong mobility
  • Improve balance, reduce the risk of falling
  • Focus and clear the mind with breath work
  • Meditate to deepen connection and intuition
  • Strengthen Pelvic Floor muscles to prevent prolapse and incontinence

Hatha Yoga
60 minute Balanced Practice
"Ha" means sun and "Tha" means moon. In this balanced practice you will be guided into poses that stretch and strengthen the arms, legs, core, and spine. We also work on balance and mental focus. Poses are demonstrated with modifications and variations that are suitable for all levels, beginner to advanced.


Vinyasa Yoga
60 minute yoga flow
This class is taught on the mat. Begins with centering, then gentle movements to warm the spine. A series of sun salutations build endurance, increase heart rate and get you moving with breath. Poses are held for a short time or single breath and focus is on safe transitions between poses. Sequence builds through repetitions. Great cardio. Intermediate level.


​Yin Yoga
60 minute Restorative practice
Deep, passive stretches and long holds (3-5 min) allow the muscles to release and expand. Great for releasing tight muscles after long or hard workouts. Resets the muscles, aligns the body, quiets the mind. Guided relaxation and breathing with visualizations and meditation. Use of bolsters and blankets. Wear warmer clothes. All levels.

Journey through the Chakras
4 week course (Eight 60 minute sessions)
Utilize colors, sound, mantras, 
prana breath practices and asana postures to activate each of the seven major chakras, or energy wheels. This Yoga practice unites Shakti energy rooted in the Earth with Shiva energy coming from divine source.  Awaken Kundalini by balancing and activating each chakra. 
  1. 1st Chakra "C" Muladara- EARTH- Strong Foundation
  2. 2nd Chakra "D" Svadistana- WATER- Fluid movement
  3. 3rd Chakra "E" Manipura- FIRE- Digestive Twists
  4. 4th Chakra "F" Anahata- AIR- Heart and Hip Openers
  5. 5th Chakra "G" Vishuddha- SOUND- Throat, Neck, Shoulders
  6. 6th Chakra "A" Ajna- LIGHT- Eyes, Head, Inversion
  7. 7th Chakra "B" Sahasrara- THOUGHT- Kundalini Activation 
  8. Guided Journey through the Chakras Yoga Nidra

Incorporating Chakras in Yoga
2 hour session
Everything you need to know about the seven main energy centers of the body including how it manifests in healthy and imbalanced, depleted or overactive ways. Learn how sound and color vibrations awaken each one. We delve into a yin pose and several supporting poses for each chakra. Ending with a 20 minute guided Yoga Nidra meditation with sound healing. Participants receive a handout with the information. Great for yoga teachers or anyone that wants to deepen their knowledge and practice.

Biography

Roma is a Kripalu certified yoga teacher. She got her teacher training in 2014 but has been a lifelong practitioner. Her style is rooted in Hatha, meaning "Sun/Moon", a balance of effort and ease. Classes always include centering, breathwork, stretching, strengthening, twists, balance and relaxation. She teaches mat yoga, chair yoga, and now aerial yoga. She became Aerial yoga certified in 2019 at Twisted Yoga Studio in Tempe AZ under the direction of Stephanie Taylor, cyt 500. The hammock is a wonderful tool that offers new dimension to a regular mat practice and is attainable for all bodies. She loves using yoga to improve posture and as therapy. She incorporats chakra theory, sound healing, mantra, Kundalini activatio. Recently, she has added Bhakti yoga- a devotional chanting with musical accompaniment.

Aerial Yoga

The Twisted Yoga technique ensures proper practice and teaching of aerial yoga designed specifically to help practitioners build and acquire skills in aerial silks. It stays true to the discipline and practice of Yoga, incorporating key elements such as breathwork, centering, and integration as well as using traditional yoga asana in new and creative ways using the silk as a prop. This practice is obtainable by anyone, not just circus acts."
Aerial Yoga- Fun and Flexy
60 min Aerial Silk Practice
Use a fabric hammock suspended from the ceiling to deepen and expand your practice. The silk acts as a prop to explore traditional yoga poses in newly supported ways. It allows for complete inversion practice to decompress the spine. Experience a new perspective by getting off the mat and into the Air. Builds core, arm and leg strength and increases confidence 💪. All levels, beginners welcome.

Gentle Aerial Flow
60 min gentle flow with hammock
The aerial hammock is used to assist and support in gentle stretches and strengthening poses. Bigger focus on how to enter and exit safely. Low fly silks and restorative elements are also incorporated. leave class feeling good and accomplishing more than you thought you could. Aerial yoga is for Everyone! Suitable for beginners.

Restorative Aerial
60 minute Low FlyThe aerial hammock is used to assist and support in gentle stretches and strengthening poses. Bigger focus on how to enter and exit safely. Low fly silks and restorative elements are emphasized. Leave class feeling good and accomplishing more than you thought you could. Aerial yoga is for Everyone! Suitable for beginners
